School Hotspot Network Design & Implementation — MikroTik

A managed Wi-Fi hotspot for a school, built on MikroTik equipment.

The need: The school needed dependable Wi-Fi that staff and students could use, with control over who connects and how much internet each person can use.

What we did:

• Configured MikroTik router hotspot services, DHCP, IP addressing, DNS, and network management.
• Integrated multiple wireless access points to extend Wi-Fi coverage across different areas of the school.
• Implemented voucher-based authentication to manage user access and internet subscriptions.
• Configured access profiles with different time-based packages to support flexible internet usage
• Managed bandwidth and user sessions to improve network performance and ensure fair resource allocation.
• Troubleshot connectivity issues, router configurations, and wireless network access.
• Established a foundation for centralized user authentication and seamless roaming between school access points.
